It seems with each new build that the people who have been playing from the start are getting screwed over. Like the new SoC system for instance. i spent a lot of my time getting all my elites for my pally.. i mean it was frustrating but when you got an elite if felt like you had earned it. But now its a million times easier to get, which is even more annoying.
Are we (the people playing from the start) just test subjects to bring out the flaws in the game so A.Net can fix them. while this is a good thing i still cant help but feel a little cheated...

I think it's hard to predict exactly what are going to be all the flaws in a game like this. If you read about up coming/past updates on EQ's site you'll notice that even years later, they're still making changes and improvements. Anyway, I think GW has really good potential to become even better in time! We'll, see for sure in the next few expansion packs.
get used to it, online games are effectively constantly under development and as such achievements one minute are insignificant the next. Just file it under 'back when i started elites were hard to come by', ready to be sprung apon newbs moaning about x, y or z being 'too hard'.
Yeah good point its still an achievement to me like those guys with the amazing amounts of fame... I dont like to dis this game because as you say it has potential & im really enjoying itso far i just hope they leave somethings that meant something the way they are..

Did you intentionally leave out how the older players area all sitting on thousands of plats because farming was so much easier, or did you just selectively forget that? It goes both ways, its now easier to get elites, and much harder to get money.
lol...In EQ & EQ2 the gold standard is to rush through the content, quickly get all the artifacts and max stats, then scream to high heaven that the game is too EASY and must be adjusted.
In comes the changes, and those who got a cakewalk to max ability then begin spouting arrogant statements about all the rest of the "noobs," content that their ill-won rewards will not be shared by any one else soon.
There are missions to respec secondary class, and with the ability to respec abilities on the fly, this is such a non-issue as to be nonsensical.
If you must be unique, push for graphical enhancements and ideas mentioned in the money-sink threads.
Of course ArenaNet are most concerned with new players since it's new players who are providing their income.
From a pureply financial point of view, those of us who have played since the start have already given them all the money we're going to give them until the next chapter comes out, so it makes sense for them to focus on getting more new players.
Of course they probably aren't that scheming and connivng, and I think they do want to look after the existing players to make sure we buy the next chapter too, but it's something you have to consider.
Anyway, any changes that benefit new players benefit any new characters you make too.

in case you didnt notice it just a short while ago the *hardcore pvp* were yelling that the SoC needed drastic fixing as it was too hard to grab an elite
Thats because its a different set of people. When one side is pleased, they wont speak out. When the sides change, they in turn start to speak out. The game is changing from black to white to black. What we need are some grays.

So what is it you want? You want problems that ANet could fix to be kept just so the new players have to suffer like the older players did?
Thats rather selfish, if you ask me.
Although remember that this also means any new characters you creeate will have an easier time also...
I think what Guild Wars needs, is more difficulty. Simple things, like amping up monster stats a bit(mainly, on further places like Volcano Islands where my Elementalist can nuke 10s of Flesh Golems without dieing), and reducing what people get out of quests(mainly, Villainy...it should have stayed at 500 XP). Now, people get the monster XP, plus 4,000 from Villainy...too much. Easily, too much. My E/N was level 20 before reach the Crystal Desert, without the 4k villainy quest. And the Crystal Desert really isn't far away if your character can do Villainy of Galrath(unless I'm mistaken, and the monsters are now easier).
As much as I'd like to see the flaws of GW worked out, getting 500 XP from Villainy of Galrath was something I could have done without...ever. Most people used to give Villainy a pass until they were level 18, 19, 20, and at the Temple of Ages(for a party of 8).
Now, there's "rushers" taking gold offers from as early as Lions Arch to get new characters their 4,000 XP. And groups for Villainy start in Hot Springs, Beetletun, Temple of Ages, Lions Arch, Divinity Coast and the D'Alessio Seaboard...
Kind of crazy how so many people want to do a single quest now. If you go to a town in Kryta, there's a 50% chance you're going to see something like:
"PARTY FOR VILLAINY MESSAGE SIR RUSHER"
It's also sort of depressing that a rune trader is needed. The whole point of the trade channel, was to trade runes, upgrades, materials, weapons and armor, and of course gold. Now, upgrades, weapons, and armor, are the only things you have to look to the trade channel to find. Rare Materials Trader...Rune Trader...both uneeded.
Before now, in beta even, I had worked semi hard to find my items, to take to NPCs that would make them into rare crafting materials. Now, I go to Ascalon City, fork over 500 gold and go get my crafted item. Way too easy...
Rhunex, people were making groups for Villainy from LA onwards before too. It's still just as hard. the reward just reflects the difficulty of the quest now.

Yes, after youve paid your $50 for the game they dont care about you anymore
i hope that was sarcasm because they are doing a pretty good job at listening at the GW community ( yeah.. us ) Maybe they don't make all the change you want, but they are trying and listening and this is what's important.

Well yes, I know that, but now it's just horrible. I can't walk for 5 seconds in LA until a villainy group gets called, and now, they get rushers to do it(why rush? its an rpg...).
When my first character was in LA(2 or 3 days after it came out i think) I didn't see much of anything, because it was primarily beta people such as myself there, no one really new, so most people knew what was going on. But, as I started exploring Kryta(to make a full map for my FPS clan, let them know what goes on in Guild Wars, etc) I noticed people were starting villainy groups from LA, but it was pretty random. it might be 10-30 minutes between groups being set up...
Now, I go to LA...
"RUSHING FOR VILLAINY OF GALRATH, GIMME 1K GOLD AND WE'RE OFF!"
It has, however, been a long time since I frequently visited LA, until now, so I might just be a crusty, out dated player...
It says on the back of the box: gaming experience may vary. or sumting like that.
I believe it said gaming experience may vary with online play? In reference to the Teen rating. Online games may vary since you have jerks shouting out obscenities, thus turning the game from Teen to Mature.
Too lazy to find the box to clarify...although the necro (I believe it's Eve?) looks pretty hot. Even though I don't usually go for goths...ANYWAYS. Yeah.
Not addressing difficulties because other people have had a hard time overcoming them is ignorant. You may as well say we should all be drawing our water from wells because our ancestors had it that hard. Or..... we could improve and add to a game that just came out so players can enjoy a game instead of work in a game, this is a game not a job.
Your inflated sense of accomplishment is immature, if you knew a player who you liked you would use your "powers" to help them gain an advantage over other players so they wouldn't have it as hard as you did, the same way a parent hopes to ease thier childrens hardships with the accomplishments they have endured beforehand. But you don't care about all the other players, you care about how hard it was for you..... Well A.net makes the game better for all it's players, if you feel jipped then start another character and get all the elite skills easily with it, you'll feel better

Sorry to hear you feel you've been cheated. However complaining in such a thread is not the way to go. You'll find quite a few similar threads this forum as well as in others. Use them, and don't start a new one. Then this is a suggestion forum, and not a "I'm-not-satisfied-and-I-wanna rant-against-the-latest-patch" forum. Please start posting positive and helpful suggestions.
